NHP-GCP Superintendent’s Report: Welcome to the 2012-13 School Year

Superintendent Robert Katulak gives an update on the construction in the district.

The following are the remarks of New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Superintendent Robert Katulak made during the public meeting of the NHP-GCP Board of Education on Sept. 10, 2012:

Welcome back to another exciting school year. We are opening our schools this year with many wonderful renovations to our buildings in the form of new bathrooms, lighting, flooring, sidewalks, play areas and a brand new library and computer lab at the New Hyde Park Road School. At the September Board meeting, the district’s architect and construction management firm will provide an update of the work that has totally been completed and what will still be worked on this fall.

Our classrooms are ready and the books and supplies have arrived. Our teachers and administrators have met for two days and are ready to deliver a quality educational program that addresses the Common Core Learning Standards, which prepares the students for the New York State Assessments and protects them from bullying and harassment under the newly adopted Dignity for All Students Act.
