NHP Memorial Sends Holiday Mail for Heroes

Students created cards for soldiers this holiday season.

Red Cross Club participated in conjunction with the Nassau County Red Cross chapter in their second annual Holiday Mail for Heroes event on Dec. 5.

With a turnout of more than 50 members, students got to work at decorating holiday cards using construction paper, markers and other art supplies. Each student worked in creating a personalized card to uplift the spirits of wounded soldiers who have returned from combat around the U.S. and soldiers stationed abroad this holiday season.

Senior Betsy Philipose, secretary of the Red Cross said, “I was very pleased to see the number of students who came to help. It shows that students genuinely care for this cause since they took the time to lift the hearts of soldiers.”
