Scenes from the 2012 New Hyde Park Memorial Homecoming

Some of the best photos from the 2012 New Hyde Park Homecoming festivities.

On Saturday, October 20 New Hyde Park Memorial held its annual homecoming parade followed by a game of football.

The theme of "New York" was present in the floats and costumes being worn on Saturday during the parade, which started at the public lot on Lakeville Road before proceeding east on Jericho Turnpike to New Hyde Park Road. The route then turned north and made a right onto Evergreen which led to the school.

Halftime was filled with festivities with the marching band, cheerleaders – dressing in support of both the NY Giants and NY Jets – Romanettes, step team and twirlers –dressed as cops and black and white striped convict costumes – all performing in front of the packed bleachers.

While the Gladiators could not come together for a win the fun ran throughout the whole day. The shortcomings of the football team put the homecoming ceremony at halftime front and center as the real highlight with homecoming king Timothy Foley and queen Natalie Bracco crowned at the end of halftime while the class of 2015 won best float.
