Searingtown School Celebrates International Peace Day

Numerous classes at Herricks school hold special projects for international day of peace.

Second graders at the Searingtown School in Herricks recently celebrated International Peace Day on September 21.

Students participated by wearing white and singing songs such as “Teaching Peace,” “Picnic of the World,” and chanting tunes about the continents and oceans.

Under the leadership of second grade teacher Deirdre Bambrick, the students were actively learning through song and hand movements about how we are all together on this beautiful planet at a great big “Picnic of the World.”
