Searingtown School Puts iPads Into Action

Herricks students learn NY State geography using latest tech tool in the classroom.

Fourth grade students at the Searingtown School in Herricks recently explored the shape of New York State using their iPads, which were purchased by the Indo-US community.

After isolating the state using Google Maps, the students took a screen captures of their screen and pulled the image into a free app called Skitch.

The students then traced the outline of the state with their finger, reinforcing the shape in their minds.
