Searingtown Students Send Valentines Goodies to Veterans

Herricks students created handmade valentines for our area’s veterans

During the month of January Searingtown School students created handmade valentines for our area’s veterans.

Searingtown families and staff members donated items for the veterans, making the valentine and donation boxes stuffed to overflowing. Searingtown’s staff, along with some of the fifth graders, helped man the tables for a verysuccessful Valentines for Vets Bake Sale.

PTA Co-Presidents Mrs. Bosco and Mrs. Calvin, as well as Mrs. DiGirolomo and Mrs. Barba joined in lending their helping hands to make the day agreat time for all the students.

The local Brownie Troop, lead by Mrs. Yorke, Mrs. Aivaliotis and Mrs. Katz, even joined in and our Brownies not only made valentines, collected items needed byour veterans, but also contributed goodies to the bake sale. The proceeds from the bake salewere used to buy even more items to be donated.

Ms. Smythe and Mrs. McElroy delivered all of the gifts to Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel’s office.
