Sewanhaka Choruses Perform Annual Christmas Carol Show

Choirs from all five schools perform for board of education members.

Students from the various component schools of the Sewanhaka Central High School District gave their annual Christmas performance at the meeting of the board of education Monday night at Sewanhaka High School.

The choirs from New Hyde Park Memorial, H.Frank Carey, Floral Park Memorial and Sewanhaka High School, comprised of at least 100 students, lined the perimeter of the board room on the third floor of Sewanhaka High School, performing several traditional Christmas songs, including “Carol of the Bells,” “Deck the Halls,” “Night of Silence,” “Silent Night” and “Jingle Bells” led by New Hyde Park Choir Director Robert McKinnon, Sewanhaka Choir Director Rachel Daloia, Floral Park Choir Director Samantha Koch and H. Frank Carey Chorus Director Michael Moreno, respectively.

“I’d like to say ‘thank you’ to all the kids who came out tonight,” music department chair Eileen Kramer said. “They’re fabulous, we love working with them and it’s so great to put everybody together on this wonderful occasion and happy holiday to everyone on behalf of the music program.”
