Floral Park Ends Lady Gladiator’s Playoff Hopes 53-46

Kristen Korzevinski led Lady Gladiators with 18 points and 8 rebounds.

The New Hyde Park girls varsity basketball squad saw their playoff hopes cut short Thursday night after suffering a 53-46 loss at Floral Park.

With a total of 14 lead changes throughout the night, it was a quartet of free-throws from Lady Knights senior Kaela Hilaire that sealed the victory for No. 5 Floral Park (15-3) who will face No. 4 Sewanhaka (15-3) away on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Nassau Class A quarter finals.

The Lady Gladiators were down by one point at the half, going on a 12-5 run in the third, but Hilaire racked up 9 points in the fourth quarter on her way to 17 with 11 assists.

New Hyde Park’s (8-9) Kristen Korzevinski had 18 points and 8 rebounds while Laila Chadli contributed 15 to the cause.
