New Hyde Park Bluedevils 15U Continue Win Streak

New Hyde park team now stands 11-0 after 18-6 blowout against Huntington.

The New Hyde Park 15U Bluedevils extended their winning streak with a 18-6 triumph over the Long Island Hawks in Huntington.

Doug Obidienzo was impressive in his four innings of shutout pitching for the Bluedevils, but he turned the 10-0 lead to his teammates who had two of their worst innings in the field and on the mound all year as the Hawks cut the Bluedevils lead to 10-6 after six innings.

The Bluedevils exploded in the top of the seventh as they batted around and scored eight to put the game away at 18-6. Anthony Millan (2 runs, 2 RBIs), Niko Rullo (2 hits, 2 runs, 3 RBIs), Kyle Cajigas (2 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), Brandon LaFroscia (3 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), John Hayes (2 runs, 2 RBIs), Dylan Savarese (2 runs, 1 RBI), Ray Close (1 run, 2 RBIs), Mike Thornton (3 RBIs), Obidienzo added two hits and a run scored, as well as Anthony Pomara, Vincent Balletta and Matt Gorman all added a run scored to close out the scoring.

The Bluedevils summer record now stands at 11-0 and look to close out the month of June without a loss on Sunday vs. the LI Tribe at Memorial Park in New Hyde Park.
