The members of the New Hyde Park 11/12 Girls Softball team had an early day Tuesday, rising in the pre-dawn hours and catching a flight out to Portland, Oregon for the start of the .
The Eastern Champions were greeted in style once they landed, having received a ride from the airport in a stretch limo to the ballfield, just like major-leaguers.
Once there, they were treated to lunch and photo-ops, followed by the opening ceremony on Wednesday afternoon where they got to show off their champions uniforms as well as attend an ice cream social and a skills challenge.
