2013 New Hyde Park Little League All-Star Game

Zadnik's Megan and Marisa were hot on the pitcher's mound on June 15, but were just off their game. While Mathnasium pitched Jones, Rullo, Kurzrock and Mikowski and Giamarino, Rullo and Kurzrock caught while Maria and Sarah caught the day for Zadnik. It was a close game but American League (Mathnasium) squeezed by 7-5 to oust the National League (Zadnik D.D.S.).

Zadnik had two hits on the day (a single & double) while Mathnasium had six hits (four singles, a double and a triple) and lit up the base paths with their wild running.

Afterwards the two teams came together on the pitcher's mound for group photos and a Girls Minor League New Hyde Park stack-up/shout out at the end of the game.

Marisa Ogden & Sophia Giamarino received honors as defensive players of the game; Maria Lodato and Julia Kurzrock received offensive players of the game, and Katie Hopkins and Claire Mikowski were awarded MVP of the game. Both teams received all-star t-shirts and medals and each player took home a participatory medal.

Thanks go out to the parents running the concession stand during the game and to New Hyde Park Little League Board members specially Co-President Nancy Gregory, Mike Daloia, Vinnie G. and Artie Savarese for their efforts in planning and setting up this event.

On June 19 Mathnasium faced off against Malverne. No score was available at press time.
