Alex DiSanto’s two saves nab Skyline Conference honors.

SUNY College at Old Westbury junior Alex DiSanto of New Hyde Park has been named the Skyline Conference Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week for March 4, 2013.

The announcement was made Monday afternoon by league officials.

A member of the Herricks High School Class of 2010, DiSanto, a right-handed reliever, made his Old Westbury season debut in game one of a doubleheader on Feb. 24 at Frostburg State, pitching a scoreless ninth inning in the Panthers’ 5-2 to record his first save of the season.

DiSanto also closed the door in Old Westbury’s 3-2 victory over Baruch on March 2.

Old Westbury will hold its home opener on Friday, March 8 at 1 p.m. as part of the Skyline/SUNYAC Challenge with the Plattsburgh State Cardinals.
