New Hyde Park Player Named Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week

Alex DiSanto's two saves nab Skyline Conference honors.

SUNY College at Old Westbury junior Alex DiSanto of New Hyde Park has been named the Skyline Conference Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week for March 4, 2013.

The announcement was made Monday afternoon by league officials. 

A member of the Herricks High School Class of 2010, DiSanto, a right-handed reliever, made his Old Westbury season debut in game one of a doubleheader on Feb. 24 at Frostburg State, pitching a scoreless ninth inning in the Panthers’ 5-2 to record his first save of the season.

DiSanto also closed the door in Old Westbury’s 3-2 victory over Baruch on March 2.

Old Westbury will hold its home opener on Friday, March 8 at 1 p.m. as part of the Skyline/SUNYAC Challenge with the Plattsburgh State Cardinals.
