Sports Notebook: Gymnastics Place and Riflery to Shoot
The Sewanhaka gymnastics team placed second in its recent tri-meet.

Spiraling To Second
The participated in a heated tri-meet with Garden City and Bethpage on Jan. 18. The girls came in second place with a score of 156.7.

Bethpage was the overall winner of the meet with a score of 163.25 and Garden City placed third with a score of 110.8.
"It was a very interesting meet," said Coach Kaitlyn Mosie. "The gym was very busy with all teams competing and warming up at the same time.

Eighth grader Stephanie Jennings performed well, placing second on floor with a score of 9.0 and was tied for second on bars with a score of 8.1.
Currently the Sewanhaka team's conference record is 4-3.
The next meet which will be their last home meet of the season is against Hewlett on Jan. 31.
Mosie is already looking ahead though to the Nassau County Coaches' Invitational Meet on Feb. 12 at New Hyde Park where 150 girls will compete.
"We are really excited that we are hosting this event and are looking forward to it," said Mosie.
Riflery's Last Shot
The will have their last meet of the season on Monday against Freeport. It will be a home meet at the .
After that, preparations will begin for Counties.
"We will not participate as a team this year but will have a number of students compete as individuals," said Coach Alan Zarchy.
