Riflery Ends Season, Counties Coming Up

The beat Freeport 703-622 on Monday in their last meet of the season.

Senior Captain Dan Spratt shot an impressive 185 in his final meet.

"He did a really good job for us this year," said Coach Alan Zarchy.

The average score for this year's team was 690 which was nine points higher than last year's average.

"I thought we had a good overall year," said Zarchy, adding " but unfortunately the competition shot at an extremely high level."

The team did not qualify for the playoffs as only the top four teams make it; the Sewanhaka District team placed fifth.

The team will now wait for invitations to shoot as individuals at the county tournament.

"I believe that at least three of our shooters will be going to counties," said Zarchy.

The Counties will be held on Feb. 10 at Glen Cove High School.
