Sports Notebook: Wrestling and Track
Wrestling stars place first and third in qualifiers; Francisco and Walker qualify for Track Counties.
captain Christian Dluginski took first place in the county qualifiers this past weekend at Freeport High School. The senior will wrestle in the Nassau County championships Saturday at Hofstra University in the 135 pound weight class.
Senior Greg Goetz also qualified for the championship after taking third place in the 215 pound weight class.

Senior Neigelle Francisco has qualified for the Counties in the 55 meter sprint. Last year, she was second in the event with a sprinting time of 7.48 seconds.

- Eighth grader Sara Seper qualified in the 1ooo meter run.
- Junior Lillie Viscardi qualified for the 1500 meter racewalk and senior Myrlande Demosthene qualified in the shot put.
- On the boys side, top sprinter James Walker easily qualified for the 55 meter.
- Senior Jerry Jose will be running in the 300 meter and sophomore runner/hurdler Gabe Skugor will participate in the 1600 meter.
