Tennis: Herricks Girls 2011 Preview

The Highlanders return eight seniors and hope to be competitive in their conference this season.

The Herricks girls tennis team would like to get off to a good start this season after a rough 2010 campaign. The Highlanders only managed to win one game and that wasn't until late into October.

"We have a really promising bunch with these girls," said Dugan. "They are an amazing group who have shown a lot of dedication and effort in practice and that bodes well for this upcoming season."

Expectations: "We play in a tough conference with some quality teams" said Head Coach Joy Dugan. "But we return eight seniors to our team this year  and we also will have a nationally ranked player at first singles for us."

That player is Freshman Taylor Cosme. It is Cosme's first year on the team and Dugan believes she will make a real difference.
