Volleyball: Herricks Boys 2011 Preview

Team looks to go deep in the playoffs this year.

The Herricks boys volleyball team brings back two All-Conference players to a team that looks set to make another playoff run. Senior Middle Blocker Jeffrey Kim and Junior Setter Joseph Yoon return giving the Highlanders some much needed depth and experience.

2010 Record: 9-5, lost to Syosset in Class A quarterfinals.

Expectations:

The Highlanders are looking to make it back to the Nassau County playoffs and make a deeper run than they did last season when they lost to Syosset, 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

"We are definitely looking to get further than we did last season," Weinberg said. "We bring back some good players and our expectations are high."

With Kim and Yoon, the Highlanders have a very real chance of getting to the County finals. Josh Kim also returns at the Libero position and Kevin Ko is a first year varsity player who will be expected to contribute in every match.
