New Hyde Park Farmer's Market Returns May 31

G&G Long Island Farmer’s Market returns for a second summer season to  New Hyde Park.

Located in the municipal parking lot on Jericho turnpike just west of New Hyde Park Road, across from the Village Hall, the market will run every Saturday morning, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning May 31 through November 22.

The market will feature a large selection of goods, including those from two Long Island farms Thera Farms from Ronkonkoma, and Rasweiler Farm located in Laurel.

Also joining the market is an orchard with tree fruits such as apples, pears, peaches, plums, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and everything apple from cider to donuts and pies.

Other goods include fresh pasta and more than 30 varieties of ravioli's from Deer Park's Bambino Ravioli's. Monty Breads will offer breads stuffed with everything from cheese to vegetables to meats.

In the winter of 2009, G&G started the first winter farmer’s market on Long Island and has been going strong ever since with winter markets in locations such as Huntington Village and Baldwin and summer markets in Babylon and New Hyde Park.

The market will on occasion provide live music, featuring local musicians.

It also accepts food stamps (EBT cards), which can be used for fruits, vegetables, breads, meat, fish, poultry dairy products andbaked goods.
