Thirty members of 's congregation ran in the Worldvision race this Saturday morning at Flushing Meadows Corona Park to raise money to provide clean water for people in Africa.
The team from Beacon raised $12,000, according to congregant Cathleen Cuneo. She added that for many members of the church this was the first race they took part in.
Cuneo trained starting about a month ago for the race by walking three times a week and then building up to running.
