Give 5: Beacon Church

New Hyde Park Patch spent some time on Sunday at the East Williston and New Hyde Park campuses of Beacon Church.

Patch aims to not only report the latest news, but also to be a part of the community. On various days throughout the year, Patch employees across the country do something to give back in the very places that we live and work as part of the company's Give 5 days.

On Sunday morning, I headed to the East Williston campus of to help set-up and clean up after the 9:30 a.m. service. I helped set up the elements for the service alongside pastoral intern Trevor Nauta. During the Beacon services, coffee, tea and bagels are also served; I helped to prepare those.

After the East Williston service was over at 10:30 a.m., I helped clean up the aforementioned coffee and bagels and headed over to the New Hyde Park campus before their 11:30 a.m. service was going to begin.
