North Shore-LIJ Offers Flu Shots to Seniors

North Shore-LIJ donated several hundred vaccines.

The North Shore-LIJ Health System, Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell and the American Legion Post 144 in Williston Park recently teamed up to offer flu vaccines to seniors in the community.

Organized by William Lorusso, senior physician assistant at Glen Cove Hospital, North Shore-LIJ donated several hundred vaccines. Lorusso is a member of the American Legion Post 144 and also a retired Captain of the Medical Specialist Corps, US Army Aeromedical PA.

O’Connell, a registered nurse, helped other nurses from the community to administer flu shots to the seniors.
