18th Annual New Hyde Park Street Fair Saturday

Jericho Turnpike will be closed from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday for street fair.

The Village of New Hyde Park will be hosting their 18th annual village street fair on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The fair will run along a one-mile length of Jericho Turnpike beginning at New Hyde Park Road. During the time of the fair Route 25 will be closed to vehicular traffic.

This year there will be a total of 138 sidewalk participants, comprised of village merchants, charities, school fundraisers, service groups and chamber of commerce members.

For the first time, the children’s carnival in the Central Boulevard parking lot across from the village hall will be expanded to include additional rides.

This year’s newest feature is the petting zoo, which will be located on Lakeville Road, courtesy of Green Meadows Farm.

Visitors also have the chance to win a raffle for two airline tickets from JetBlue Airlines.

As of Friday night, ever spot is sold out and there are over 200 vendors registered for the street fair.
