Student from New Hyde Park Named 2014 National Merit Scholar
Kellenberg Memorial senior Kayla Fernando designated a commended scholar.
New Hyde Park resident and Kellenberg Memorial High School senior Kayla Fernando has been named a commended Student in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Fernando was among 34,000 Commended Students nationally. Commended Students place among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2014 competition by taking the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
